The Codelocks KL1100 Keypad is a slimline electronic lock for lockers, cabinets and cupboards. It combines traditional keypad access with a powered latch, flexible user management and automatic unlocking options.

The lock is suitable for organisations that want to remove the cost and administration associated with replacement keys while retaining simple, familiar code access. It can be used for permanently assigned storage or short-term lockers shared by different users.

Private and Public Locker Functions

Public function A user selects a temporary code when securing an available locker. Entering the same code reopens the lock and clears it for the next user. Gyms, leisure centres, hot-desking areas, visitor storage, changing rooms and other short-term shared facilities.

Public function can be configured for single-entry or double-entry code confirmation. Double entry can help reduce the risk of a user accidentally securing a locker with an incorrectly entered code.

Flexible User and Administrator Access

Different code levels allow day-to-day users, site managers and maintenance personnel to be given appropriate access without sharing one universal administrator code.

In private function, separate user positions allow several authorised people to operate the same locker or cabinet. This can be useful for departmental storage, shared equipment cupboards and facilities accessed by different shifts.

A Technician Code can be used by authorised staff to inspect or open a public-use locker without unnecessarily deleting the current user's code. Full programming remains restricted to the appropriate management code.

Automatic Unlocking for Shared Lockers

Automatic unlocking helps prevent a public-use locker from remaining occupied indefinitely after a user has left the site or forgotten their code.

New Installation or Locker Lock Retrofit

The KL1100 can be fitted to suitable new locker and cabinet doors. It also shares its principal fixing-hole arrangement with the KitLock KL1000 Classic, making it a potential upgrade for compatible existing installations.

Retrofit compatibility should not be assumed from the existing lock model alone. Door construction, existing apertures, rear clearance, latch engagement and the position of the locker frame must all be checked.

The KL1100 uses a powered latch rather than a conventional rotating cam. The door and frame must therefore allow the latch to close and release correctly without excessive pressure or misalignment.

KL1100 Code Levels and Permissions

The KL1100 uses separate code levels to distinguish full administrative control from routine user and maintenance access. Management codes should be issued only to authorised personnel and stored securely.

Battery and Emergency Power Information

The lock is supplied with the powered latch in the unlocked position. If installed before the batteries are fitted, it will remain unlocked until power is applied and the lock is programmed.

When replacing a conventional cam lock, the old fixing aperture may remain visible because the KL1100 uses a powered latch and a different fixing arrangement. A suitable cover plate may be required, provided the total door thickness remains within the permitted limit.

  1. Confirm that the door thickness, fixing position and latch alignment are suitable for the KL1100.
  2. Fit the front unit, gasket and rear latch without trapping the connecting cable.
  3. Install four matching AA batteries in the correct orientation.

  6. Select private function or the required public-function configuration.

The KL1100 Keypad can store up to 20 four-digit User Codes when operating in private function. Each code is assigned to a numbered user position so that individual codes can be changed or deleted without resetting all users.

What batteries does the KL1100 Keypad use?

The KL1100 Keypad uses four 1.5 V AA batteries located in the rear latch unit. Use four matching, high-quality batteries and replace the complete set when the low-battery warning appears.

What does the KL1100 low-battery warning look like?

The red LED flashes three times before the normal unlocking indication. Approximately 100 further openings may remain, but the four AA batteries should be replaced as soon as possible.

How is the KL1100 opened if the batteries have failed?

Three consecutive incorrect code entries trigger a 10-second penalty period. The keypad will not accept another operating attempt until the delay has ended.

Does the KL1100 retain its codes when the batteries are removed?

Yes. Programmed codes and general settings are retained in non-volatile memory. The internal date and time are lost when power is interrupted, so they must be reset before scheduled unlocking or restricted access periods are used again.

Does the KL1100 adjust automatically for British Summer Time?

No. The lock does not automatically apply daylight-saving adjustments. Its internal time should be checked and corrected when British Summer Time begins or ends if time-based features are enabled.

Can the KL1100 automatically unlock after a set period?
