Secure Pesticide and Agrochemical Storage Cupboards

QMP pesticide and agrochemical security cupboards provide reinforced, lockable storage for agricultural chemicals where restricted access and stronger physical security are required. Suitable for farms, estates, horticultural sites, grounds maintenance departments, agricultural contractors, colleges and rural businesses, the range helps organise pesticides and compatible agrochemicals within a dedicated storage area.

Each secure farm chemical cupboard is manufactured in the United Kingdom from fully welded 1.5 mm powder-coated mild steel. A seven-lever safe lock, full-length heavy-duty hinges and concealed fixings provide greater protection against unauthorised access than a standard pesticide storage cupboard. The red Germ Guard Active Technology finish creates a durable, easily identifiable surface for demanding agricultural environments.

Adjustable galvanised spill-retaining shelves allow the internal layout to accommodate different container sizes. An integral liquid-tight sump helps restrict the spread of minor leaks inside the cabinet, while supplied hazard warning labels clearly identify its intended use. Pesticides should remain in their original, correctly labelled containers unless the product instructions specifically permit another arrangement.

Five pesticide security cupboard sizes are available, ranging from compact 900 mm-high cabinets to full-height 1800 mm models with up to three adjustable shelves. Select the correct size according to the number, dimensions and weight of the containers, available floor space, doorway access and the storage controls identified through the site risk assessment.

Different pesticides, fertilisers, fuels, acids, alkalis and other agricultural chemicals may be incompatible and should not automatically be stored together. Before ordering, review product labels, safety data sheets, chemical classifications, container materials, storage quantities and segregation requirements.

A secure pesticide cupboard can support access control, spill management and organised chemical storage, but the cupboard alone does not establish COSHH or pesticide-storage compliance. Employers and professional users must also maintain suitable risk assessments, training, inspections, emergency procedures and secure site management.

  • Fully welded 1.5 mm mild-steel construction
  • Seven-lever safe lock for restricted access
  • Heavy-duty hinges with concealed fixings
  • Adjustable galvanised spill-retaining shelves
  • Integral liquid-tight sump for minor leak containment
  • Five UK-manufactured cupboard sizes

Pesticide and Agrochemical Security Cupboard FAQs

What is a pesticide and agrochemical security cupboard?

A pesticide and agrochemical security cupboard is a reinforced, lockable cabinet for agricultural chemicals where restricted access and stronger physical security are required. Typical users include farms, estates, horticultural businesses, grounds maintenance teams, agricultural contractors and colleges.

How does a security cupboard differ from a standard pesticide cupboard?

The QMP security range uses fully welded 1.5 mm mild steel, a seven-lever safe lock, full-length heavy-duty hinges and concealed fixings. These features provide stronger protection against unauthorised access than a standard agricultural chemical cupboard.

View our standard pesticide and agrochemical cupboards where the reinforced security construction is not required.

Which pesticide security cupboard sizes are available?

Five cupboard sizes are available:

  • 900 × 460 × 460 mm with one shelf
  • 1200 × 900 × 460 mm with two shelves
  • 1200 × 1200 × 460 mm with two shelves
  • 1800 × 900 × 460 mm with three shelves
  • 1800 × 1200 × 460 mm with three shelves

Choose the size according to the number, dimensions and weight of the containers, available floor space, doorway access and the controls identified through the site risk assessment.

What locking system is fitted to QMP pesticide security cupboards?

Each cupboard is fitted with a seven-lever safe lock. The lock, welded steel construction, heavy-duty hinges and concealed fixings help restrict access to authorised personnel.

Do pesticide security cupboards include spill containment?

Yes. The cupboards include adjustable galvanised spill-retaining shelves and an integral liquid-tight sump. These features help restrict minor leaks inside the cabinet but do not replace compatible containers, routine inspections, absorbent materials or a documented spill-response procedure.

Should pesticides remain in their original containers?

Pesticides and agrochemicals should normally remain in their original, correctly labelled containers. Follow the product label, safety data sheet and site procedures before transferring or repackaging any substance.

Can different pesticides and agricultural chemicals be stored together?

Only substances confirmed as compatible through their labels, safety data sheets and the workplace risk assessment should be stored together. Pesticides, fertilisers, fuels, acids, alkalis and oxidising substances may require separate storage.

For corrosive chemicals, compare our acid and alkali cupboards. For general hazardous substance storage, see hazardous cupboards.

Does buying a pesticide security cupboard establish COSHH compliance?

No. A secure cupboard can support storage, access control and spill management, but the cupboard alone does not establish compliance. Employers and professional users must also maintain suitable risk assessments, follow product labels and safety data sheets, train staff and maintain inspection and emergency procedures.

Browse the wider chemical safety cabinet range for other workplace storage options.

Are pesticide and agrochemical security cupboards fire resistant?

A reaction-to-fire classification does not mean that the cupboard provides a tested period of fire resistance. Do not assume it is suitable for flammable substances without checking the product label, safety data sheet and site risk assessment.

What finish is used on QMP pesticide security cupboards?

The cupboards have a red powder-coated finish with Germ Guard Active Technology paint. Hazard warning labels are supplied to identify the intended pesticide and agrochemical storage use.

Are QMP pesticide security cupboards manufactured in the UK?

Yes. QMP pesticide and agrochemical security cupboards are designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom for professional agricultural and workplace use.

How are pesticide security cupboards delivered?

Delivery is normally made kerbside to an accessible mainland UK address. Larger cupboards may arrive palletised on a commercial vehicle, and suitable unloading arrangements may be required.

Security and Access Control

The welded cabinet body, seven-lever safe lock, heavy-duty hinges and concealed fixings provide stronger physical access protection than a standard farm chemical cupboard. Access should remain limited to trained and authorised personnel and managed through the site pesticide-storage procedures.

Pesticide Container Requirements

Pesticides and agrochemicals should normally remain in their original, correctly labelled containers. Do not transfer substances into unmarked containers. Follow the product label, safety data sheet and manufacturer instructions when determining storage conditions.

Chemical Compatibility and Segregation

Only compatible substances should be stored together. Pesticides, fertilisers, fuels, oxidising agents, acids, alkalis and other agricultural chemicals may require separate storage depending on their classification and reaction hazards.

Review the product labels and safety data sheets before loading the cupboard. Consider the chemical type, concentration, quantity, container material and compatibility with other stored products.

Spill Containment

The galvanised spill-retaining shelves and integral liquid-tight sump help restrict minor leaks inside the cabinet. These features do not replace sound containers, routine inspections, suitable absorbent materials or a documented spill-response procedure.

COSHH and Pesticide Storage Responsibilities

A pesticide security cupboard can support access control, segregation and spill-management measures identified through a workplace risk assessment. The cupboard alone does not establish COSHH or pesticide-storage compliance.

Employers and professional users must also maintain appropriate risk assessments, staff training, container labelling, stock controls, inspections, emergency procedures and secure management of the wider storage area.

Reaction-to-Fire Classification

Where an EN 13501-1 reaction-to-fire classification applies, it describes how the classified product reacts when exposed to fire. It does not provide a tested fire-resistance period and should not be interpreted as automatic suitability for storing flammable substances.

Choosing the Correct Cupboard

Before ordering, check the external dimensions, shelf arrangement, container sizes, total stored weight and available floor space. Doorways, corridors, gates, lifts and unloading access should also be checked for the larger cupboard models.

For standard agricultural chemical storage, compare our pesticide and agrochemical cupboards . For other reinforced chemical-storage options, see COSHH security cupboards , hazardous substance security cupboards and acid and alkali security cupboards .
