Phoenix Vela SS0800 Deposit Safes for Home and Office
The Phoenix Vela SS0800 Series is a range of secure deposit safes designed for storing cash, valuables and important documents in the home or office. The built-in deposit facility allows items to be placed inside the safe without opening the main safe door, making the Vela particularly useful where cash or other valuables need to be deposited during the day.
A deposit slot in the safe body incorporates an anti-fish baffle to help prevent deposited items from being retrieved through the opening. This combines convenient day-to-day depositing with the security of a conventional locked safe.
Security Protection
The Vela deposit safe range has a recommended overnight security level of up to £1,000 cash or £10,000 of valuables. Individual insurers may apply different requirements, so insurance approval should be confirmed where specific cash or valuables cover is required.
Key Lock and Electronic Lock Options
The SS0800 Series is available with a choice of key or electronic locking, allowing the safe to be selected to suit the way it will be used.
- KD key-lock models are fitted with a high-quality key lock and are supplied with two keys.
- ED electronic models feature a user-friendly electronic locking system with an anti-tamper or bounce-resistant solenoid mechanism.
- The electronic locking versions also provide a key override facility, with two override keys supplied.
Secure Deposit Facility
The deposit opening measures 150 x 12mm and is protected internally by an anti-fish baffle plate. This helps prevent cash, envelopes and other deposited contents from being pulled back through the slot after they have entered the safe.
Because deposits can be made without unlocking the main door, access to the contents of the safe can remain restricted while still allowing authorised users to deposit items.
Strong Safe Construction
The Vela SS0800 deposit safes use twin live locking bolts together with concealed internal hinges for increased resistance to unauthorised access. The exterior is finished in a durable, scratch-resistant Metallic Graphite paint suitable for home and office environments.
Interior LED Lighting
Electronic-lock Vela deposit safes are fitted with a bright LED interior light. This illuminates the inside of the safe when access is required and is particularly useful when the safe is installed inside a cupboard or another poorly lit location.
Floor or Wall Fixing
The Vela range is prepared for secure fixing to either a floor or wall. Fixing bolts are supplied for installation into suitable brick walls or concrete floors, helping prevent the complete safe from being removed.

How much space should I allow for the safe door to open?
Allow sufficient clearance for the specified door swing as well as the external dimensions of the safe. The door swing ranges from 215mm on the SS0801 to 290mm on the SS0805. This should be considered when positioning a safe inside a cupboard or restricted space.
