Factory Code for Compatible Electronic Safes
Compatible Master Lock electronic safes are supplied with the factory default code:

This code is intended only for initial setup. Change it before storing valuables and test the replacement code several times while the safe door is open.
Compatible keypad locks accept a user code containing between two and eight digits. A longer, non-obvious code is generally harder to guess. Avoid birthdays, repeated numbers, simple sequences and other information that could be associated with the user.
Opening the Safe with the Override Key
Compatible electronic safes can be opened with the supplied override key where the keypad cannot be used. Keep this key in a secure location away from the safe.
Override Key Procedure
- Remove the override-lock cover located between the operating knob and keypad.
- Insert the supplied override key and turn it anticlockwise.
- Turn the operating knob clockwise to open the safe door.
- Turn the key clockwise before removing it.
- Replace the override-lock cover.
Test the override key after programming the safe. Record the key number shown on the key and retain it separately, as this information may be required when requesting a replacement.
Installing or Replacing the Batteries
Compatible electronic models use four AA alkaline batteries. Replace the batteries as a complete set at least every two years, or sooner when the safe displays a low-battery warning or the keypad becomes slow to respond.
Battery Installation Procedure
- Open the safe door.
- Slide the battery-compartment cover on the inside of the door in the direction shown by the arrow.
- Remove all existing batteries.
- Install four new AA alkaline batteries, observing the marked positive and negative polarity.
- Slide the battery-compartment cover securely back into position.
- Test the keypad while the safe door remains open.
Battery precautions: Do not mix old and new batteries, different battery brands or different battery types. Do not use rechargeable or non-alkaline batteries unless the instructions for the specific model expressly permit them.
Used batteries should be taken to an appropriate battery-recycling point. Do not place damaged, leaking or corroded batteries into another device.
Programming a New User Code
Programme a new private code before placing valuables inside the safe. The following procedure applies to compatible Master Lock electronic models.
User Code Programming Procedure
- Open the safe door and leave it open throughout the procedure.
- Remove the internal battery-compartment cover.
- Locate and press the programming button inside the battery compartment. The yellow indicator will illuminate.
- Enter a new user code containing between two and eight digits.
- Press the # key. The yellow indicator should turn off, confirming that the code has been stored.
- Replace the battery-compartment cover.
- Test the new code several times while the door remains open.
Never close and lock the safe until the new code and override key have both been successfully tested.
