Key Vault Reinforced Key Cabinets

Key Vault reinforced key cabinets provide heavy-duty mechanical storage for building, vehicle, plant-room and restricted-access keys. The range combines a 2 mm steel body, 3 mm flush-closing door, numbered hook bars and a removable control index.

  • Reinforced steel construction for controlled key storage
  • Security deadlock with a five-pin Euro-profile cylinder
  • Adjustable, colour-coded and numbered hook bars
  • Suitable for facilities, estates, fleets and commercial sites

For lighter-duty cabinets, alternative capacities and general-purpose storage, compare the key cabinet range.

Reinforced Construction and Key Organisation

The 2 mm steel cabinet body and 3 mm flush-closing door provide stronger physical protection than lighter general-purpose key cabinets. Internal hook bars and numbered key tabs keep larger key inventories visible, ordered and easier to manage.

  • 2 mm steel cabinet body
  • 3 mm flush-closing steel door
  • Security deadlock supplied with two keys
  • Replaceable Euro-profile cylinder
  • Adjustable, colour-coded and numbered hook bars
  • Numbered key tabs that remain visible when hung
  • Removable control index for recording key locations
  • Durable light grey finish

Key Vault Locking Options

Standard models use a security deadlock with a five-pin Euro-profile cylinder. The replaceable cylinder allows compatible cabinets to be incorporated into an existing suited key system.

Combination or electronic locking may be available on selected variants. Check the chosen model before ordering to confirm its capacity, lock type, supplied keys and accessories.

Where Key Vault Cabinets Are Used

Key Vault cabinets are suitable where keys control access to vehicles, secure rooms, plant, equipment or restricted areas. Typical users include facilities teams, estates departments, fleet operators, schools, property managers, workshops and depots.

These are mechanical key cabinets and do not provide software management, named-user records or time-stamped electronic audit trails.

Key Vault Cabinet FAQs

What is a Key Vault cabinet?

A Key Vault cabinet is a reinforced mechanical key cabinet for organising and protecting commercial key inventories. It uses a 2 mm steel body, 3 mm flush-closing door and upgraded locking.

How is Key Vault different from a standard key cabinet?

Key Vault cabinets use heavier steel construction and an upgraded locking system. Standard key cabinets are generally intended for routine, lower-risk key organisation.

What locking system does a Key Vault cabinet use?

Standard models use a security deadlock with a five-pin Euro-profile cylinder supplied with two keys. Other lock types may be available on selected variants.

Can the Euro-profile cylinder be changed?

Yes. The cylinder can be replaced, allowing a compatible cabinet to be incorporated into an existing suited key system where required.

Which Key Vault capacity should I choose?

Choose a capacity that accommodates the current key inventory and allows space for future keys. Large key bunches, vehicle keys and electronic fobs may occupy more space than individual flat keys.

Where are Key Vault cabinets normally used?

They are used by facilities teams, estates departments, fleet operators, schools, property managers, workshops and depots controlling building, vehicle, plant or restricted-area keys.

Does a Key Vault cabinet provide electronic audit records?

No. Key Vault is a mechanical key-storage range. It does not provide software management, named-user tracking, remote access or time-stamped electronic audit reports.

Is Key Vault an independently security-rated cabinet?

Key Vault is described as a reinforced, heavy-duty key cabinet. Check the selected model documentation before relying on any independent security certification or insurance rating.

SpecificationSpecification sheet

Key Vault Reinforced Key Cabinet Specification

Key Vault cabinets provide reinforced mechanical key control for commercial, educational, public-sector and managed sites. They are intended for applications where a lighter general-purpose key cabinet does not provide sufficient construction strength or access control.

  • 2 mm steel cabinet body
  • 3 mm flush-closing steel door to improve resistance to forced entry
  • Security deadlock with five-pin Euro-profile cylinder
  • Two operating keys supplied with the standard cylinder lock
  • Replaceable cylinder for compatible suited-key systems
  • Adjustable, colour-coded and numbered hook bars
  • Numbered key tabs that remain visible when keys are hung
  • Removable control index for recording key locations
  • Durable light grey painted finish
  • Combination and electronic locks available on selected variants

Choosing a Key Vault Locking Option

Select the standard Euro-profile cylinder where access will be controlled using physical keys. A replaceable cylinder may allow a compatible cabinet to be incorporated into an existing suited-key system. Combination or electronic locks may be more suitable where key-free staff access is required.

Available capacities, lock types and supplied accessories vary by model. Check the selected product option and technical documentation before ordering.

View the Key Vault locking options guide for further lock information.

Compare Other Key Management Systems

For larger mechanical key inventories, compare KeyStor high-capacity key management systems . For lighter-duty cabinets, alternative capacities and routine workplace storage, see the main key cabinet range .

Key Vault is a reinforced mechanical key cabinet range. Do not rely on an independent security or insurance rating unless that certification is confirmed in the specification for the selected model.
