Features
KeyStor mechanical key cabinets provide organised, high-capacity storage for large physical key inventories. The range is designed for estates teams, schools, depots, workshops, facilities departments and commercial sites managing building, vehicle, plant and access keys.
Models can be selected by key capacity and lock type. Numbered and colour-coded hook bars support quick visual identification, while cylinder and selected hasp-locking options provide controlled physical access.
KeyStor is a mechanical system and does not provide user-level electronic tracking, software management or time-stamped audit records. For smaller installations, compare our key cabinet range.
Physical Key Control for Large Key Inventories
KeyStor is suitable when a compact key cabinet is no longer enough. The system uses panel and board layouts to make large numbers of keys easier to identify, issue and return. This supports visual control without the cost or complexity of electronic tracking.
Typical uses include building keys, vehicle keys, plant keys, department keys, restricted cupboard keys and site access keys. The range is especially useful where staff need fast visual identification and a robust physical storage point.
When to Choose KeyStor Instead of a Standard Cabinet
Choose KeyStor when capacity, visibility and structured allocation are more important than electronic audit trails. It provides a practical mechanical option for large key inventories across multiple departments, buildings or vehicle fleets.
- High-capacity physical key management for larger key volumes
- Panel and board layouts for clear visual organisation
- Colour-coded and numbered hook bars with matching key tags
- Secure cylinder locking supplied with two keys
- Optional padlock hasp locking on selected models
- Heavy-duty steel construction with durable light grey finish
- Suitable for facilities, education, depots, estates and fleet control
Compare Smaller Key Cabinets Separately
If you need a lower-capacity cabinet for office keys, site keys or occasional use, the key cabinet range is the better starting point. If you need user-level tracking, time-stamped access records or remote management, an electronic key management system may be more suitable.
KeyStor Mechanical Key Management FAQs
What is a KeyStor key management system?
KeyStor is a high-capacity mechanical key management system for organising large physical key inventories. Numbered panels, hook bars and matching key tags provide a clear visual layout for identifying, issuing and returning keys.
It is suitable for estates teams, schools, depots, workshops, facilities departments, fleets and commercial sites managing building, vehicle, plant and access keys.
How is KeyStor different from a standard key cabinet?
KeyStor is designed for larger key inventories that require a more structured panel or board layout. A standard wall-mounted key cabinet is normally more suitable for smaller numbers of keys and straightforward office or workplace storage.
For lower-capacity options, compare our key cabinet range.
How do I choose the correct KeyStor capacity?
Count the individual keys, bunches and fobs that need to be stored, then allow additional capacity for future requirements. Large key bunches, vehicle keys and electronic fobs may occupy more space than a single key position.
Check the stated capacity, panel arrangement, internal clearance and available installation space before ordering.
Which locking options are available for KeyStor?
KeyStor models are available with cylinder locking, and selected versions may offer a hasp suitable for use with a compatible padlock. Locking options vary by model and should be confirmed in the individual product specification.
Choose the lock according to the number of authorised users, the importance of the stored keys and the site's access-control requirements.
Does KeyStor use electronic tracking?
No. KeyStor is a mechanical key management range. It does not provide user-level electronic tracking, software management, time-stamped access records or downloadable audit reports.
It is intended for organisations that need structured physical key control without an electronic management platform.
Does KeyStor require a power supply?
No. KeyStor uses mechanical key organisation and locking, so it does not require mains power, batteries, network access or management software.
Are numbered hooks and key tags supplied with KeyStor?
KeyStor systems use numbered and colour-coded hook bars with corresponding key tags to support visual identification and organised key allocation. The exact panel layout and accessories supplied depend on the selected model.
Can KeyStor hold vehicle keys and large key fobs?
KeyStor can be used for vehicle keys, plant keys, access keys and key bunches where the selected model provides sufficient internal clearance. Large fobs and bulky bunches may reduce the usable number of key positions.
Confirm the key size, panel spacing and cabinet depth before ordering.
Is KeyStor suitable for master keys and restricted-access keys?
KeyStor may be used for master keys and restricted-access keys where its construction, lock and installation location satisfy the site's security assessment.
Higher-risk keys should be held in a controlled area, with access limited to authorised personnel. A higher-security or electronic key-management system may be more appropriate where individual user records or stronger tested protection are required.
