Traka21 Electronic Key Management System

Traka21 is a stand-alone electronic key management cabinet for controlling and auditing up to 21 keys or keysets. It is designed for organisations that need to know who has taken a key, when it was issued and when it was returned, without installing a networked key management system.

The wall-mounted cabinet secures each keyset to an RFID iFob and locks the iFob into an individually controlled position. Authorised staff use their personal PIN at the touchscreen to release only the keys they are permitted to access.

How Traka21 Key Issue and Return Works

1. An authorised user signs in at the touchscreen using their PIN.
2. The system identifies which keys or keysets that user may remove.
3. The selected iFob is released and the key transaction is recorded.
4. When the keyset is returned to its locking receptor, the return is recorded.

This provides an auditable record of key issue and return. Traka21 records cabinet transactions; it does not track a key's location while it is away from the cabinet.

PIN Access, RFID iFobs and User Permissions

PIN codes identify users. RFID technology is used to identify the key iFobs inside the cabinet, rather than to require staff to present RFID access cards. Administrators can assign access permissions to users, with capacity for up to 1,000 registered users per system.

The cabinet accommodates 21 locking receptors with LED indication and 21 iFobs supplied with security seals. Keys or keysets are attached to the iFobs, helping prevent unauthorised separation of the keys from their assigned identification tags.

Audit Trail and USB Reporting

Traka21 records key transactions against authorised users. Administrators can inspect audit information on the touchscreen and export reports using the USB port. This supports local investigations, handover procedures and routine checks of vehicle, building and equipment keys.

The system works locally without a permanent network connection or dedicated computer. USB reporting does not require Traka21 to be connected to a live remote management service.

Power Supply and Battery Backup

Traka21 is mains powered using a suitable power adaptor, with a manufacturer-specified input of 100–240 V AC and a 15 V DC output. An optional 12 V, 1.2 Ah backup battery is available for installations requiring temporary power continuity. Confirm whether the battery backup is required and included with the order.

Wall-Mounted Key Cabinet Installation

The compact aluminium and ABS cabinet measures 427 mm high, 246 mm wide and 95 mm deep, with a manufacturer-specified weight of 3.94 kg. Concealed fixing points support secure wall mounting. The unit is intended for indoor use; installation should allow suitable access to the mains supply and sufficient clearance for the cabinet door.

Choosing and Ordering Traka21

Traka21 is appropriate when the site needs individually controlled key positions, PIN permissions and a record of issue and return for up to 21 keys or keysets. The capacity refers to 21 key positions, not a limit of 21 registered users.
