Emergency Key Boxes and Lockout Boxes by DeRaat
Emergency Key Boxes and Lockout Boxes by DeRaat, supplied by Total Locker Service, offer secure, compliant solutions for critical access control and safety procedures in commercial, industrial, and public-sector environments.
Designed for emergency situations where access must be granted quickly and securely, these boxes ensure keys are available when needed – but protected from misuse under normal circumstances.
Whether installed in plant rooms, fire exits, security-controlled areas, or service corridors, these units provide clear visibility, robust construction, and essential emergency access functions.
Lockout boxes are ideal for isolating high-voltage equipment or machinery during maintenance. Emergency key boxes ensure escape routes, override systems, and critical access points can be reached during crises.
Purpose-Built for Emergency Access
These boxes are designed for use in high-risk areas where rapid access is critical. Emergency key boxes are typically fitted with a break-glass or lift-up cover, and may be used to store door keys, access cards, or override tools.
Lockout boxes are used to control access to machinery keys during maintenance or hazard isolation. Each worker applies their own padlock, ensuring all users are safe before reactivation.

Lockout Box Functionality
Group lockout systems require all engineers or technicians working on a machine to place their own padlock on the box. The machinery or circuit cannot be reactivated until all locks have been removed.
This procedure greatly reduces the risk of accidental startup or hazardous energy exposure and is a requirement in many industrial and engineering settings.
Emergency Key Access – When Seconds Matter
Emergency key boxes are often used where a master key must be accessible during a fire, power outage, or lockdown event. The break-glass design prevents casual access but allows emergency personnel to act quickly.
Keys can be stored for fire exits, override locks, or emergency plant controls – helping to protect lives and infrastructure.
