Refurbished ASSA Classic Coin-Operated Locker Locks
Refurbished ASSA Classic coin-operated locker locks provide a replacement option for compatible lockers in swimming pools, leisure centres, gyms, schools and managed changing facilities.
Depending on the selected configuration, the lock can operate as a coin-return lock, where the deposit is returned to the user, or as a coin-collect lock, where the coin is retained in a collecting box.
Refurbished stock can vary by coin mechanism, door handing, cylinder type, key system and environmental specification. Confirm the existing lock details before ordering to ensure the replacement is compatible.
Coin Return and Coin Collect Options
| Lock option | Operation | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Coin return | The inserted coin is released into a return tray when the locker is reopened. | Deposit-operated lockers where the user receives the coin back after use. |
| Coin collect | The inserted coin is retained in a secure collecting box when the locker is reopened. | Paid locker systems where the site retains the usage charge. |
Dry-Area and Wet-Area ASSA Coin Locks
ASSA Classic coin locks were produced in configurations for dry locations and for wet or corrosive environments. Selecting the correct version is particularly important for swimming pools, showers and humid changing rooms.
| Component | Dry-area version | Wet or corrosive-area version |
|---|---|---|
| Lock case | Polycarbonate | Polycarbonate |
| Cylinder | Chromated brass | Chromated brass |
| Keys | Nickel-plated brass | Nickel-plated brass |
| Hook bolt | Yellow-chromated steel | Nickel-plated brass |
| Other unspecified components | Yellow-chromated steel | Nickel-plated brass |
A dry-area lock should not automatically be used in a swimming-pool or corrosive changing-room environment. Confirm the construction of the refurbished lock before installation.
Identifying the Correct Replacement Lock
When requesting a replacement, provide clear photographs of the front and rear of the existing lock together with the coin operation, locker-door handing, key or cylinder reference and any visible ASSA part numbers.

Refurbished ASSA Coin Lock FAQs
What is a refurbished ASSA coin lock?
A refurbished ASSA coin lock is a previously used mechanical locker lock prepared for further service. Its exact condition, configuration and included accessories should be confirmed before ordering.
What is the difference between coin return and coin collect?
A coin-return lock releases the deposit into a return tray when the locker is reopened. A coin-collect lock sends the coin into a collecting box so the site retains the charge.
Are ASSA Classic and ASSA E-Lite locks interchangeable?
No. ASSA Classic and ASSA E-Lite are different lock ranges with different mechanisms and installation requirements. Identify the existing model and check its specification before ordering.
Are refurbished ASSA locks suitable for swimming pools?
Selected ASSA locks were produced for wet or corrosive environments, but not every refurbished lock has that specification. Confirm that the selected unit is suitable for a swimming pool or humid changing room.
How do I identify the handing of an ASSA coin lock?
Determine whether the locker door is right- or left-handed when viewed from the outside. Clear photographs of the existing lock and door are recommended because handing terminology can be misunderstood.
Which coin or token does an ASSA lock accept?
Coin mechanisms vary by lock and installation. Provide the coin denomination, diameter or an example of the existing site token so the correct mechanism can be identified.
Are keys included with a refurbished ASSA lock?
Keys should not be assumed to be included unless they are listed with the selected product. Replacement keys for compatible systems may be available through the replacement locker key service .
Can a replacement ASSA lock match an existing master-key system?
This may be possible with compatible ASSA cylinders and key systems. Provide the existing cylinder, key and master-key references so the available options can be checked.
What information should I provide when ordering?
Provide photographs, the model or part number, coin operation, coin or token details, door handing, cylinder reference, key number, environmental conditions and the components required.
Where can I compare other ASSA and coin locker locks?
Browse ASSA locker locks , compare coin-operated locker locks or view the complete locker-lock range .
