Based in Prestwich, just outside of Manchester, Rookwood Nursery is a family run business which has
been caring for local children since 1983. Children attend the nursery from birth to eleven years of age

and are encouraged to learn and develop in a safe, stimulating, home-from-home environment. On
their busiest day, the nursery can have up to 133 children, with their parents or carers dropping off and picking up at different times throughout the day.

Struggling with juggling

In 2013, the Manager at Rookwood identified that they would like to make life that little bit easier for
the parents of their youngest children. They spotted that local parents were walking to the nursery but this presented a challenge about where to leave their buggy for the later collection. As the Nursery Manager comments, ‘We realised that parents were leaving their buggies and car seats unattended or struggling to find a way to hand them over to their partner so we looked for a solution.’
