Before buying lockers, consider future locker parts availability

When you make a major capital purchase you need to know that you will be able to purchase parts for your lockers for 10 years. If you are about to spend £30,000 on leisure lockers or £5,000 on metal lockers you would like to be confident that you can purchase locker parts.

This is not always the case we have had about four occurrences over the last 6 months where we have had requests from people unable to buy locker parts from major locker manufacturers. This has been made even worse by the fact that the lockers where only 4 to 7 years old.

For the majority of these we have been able to manufacture parts for the lockers. This is not always possible if extrusions or complex hinges are involved.

Locker parts

So when looking to purchase new lockers check the availability of parts and how long they guarantee parts supply. A locker with a slightly lower initial cost could work out to be a very expensive purchase.

We at Total Lockers support all are locker through our Parts and service team. We still support lockers that are over 25 years old.

Premium metal lockers

Our system 2000 leisure lockers and our System 1300 premium metal lockers are all supported by or parts promise.
Premium System 1300 lockers are available in 1 to 6 compartments with a wide choice of locking methods. Dimensions range from 225, 300, 380 and 450mm wide, 300, 380, 450 and 550mm deep and 1775mm high. All metal construction finished in powder finish in a wide range of colours.

Leisure lockers

System 2000 are available in 1 to 6 compartments. Standard locking is £1 coin return though a wide range of locking methods are available. Dimensions 1800mm high, 300 and 400mm wide, 450 and 500mm deep. Carcass is aluminium with plastic top, base and shelves. Locker doors are manufactured from Formica or Arpa compact grade laminate.

We’re proud to only offer locker and storage products that guarantee the safe keeping of the items held inside. However, we also appreciate that even the most durable lockers eventually get worn down and damaged. Broken lockers create a bad impression, and raise concerns about security and safety. In a professional setting, whether a leisure centre or gym, this can be bad for business and it also creates a negative atmosphere with schools or other educational environments. Therefore, if any of your lockers have recently incurred damage, you should waste no time in getting them repaired.

Repairs, replacements and servicing

Our team can supply practically any part you might need to get your lockers and other storage units looking and functioning like new. The parts available include Amwell locker hinges, electronic, latch and card swipe locks, door panels and much more. We even run a locker key replacement service.

If you feel able to fix the unit yourself, we can simply send you the parts you require. Alternatively, our technicians can come to your property and make onsite repairs. Service contract

Standard locker service packages are available from one service a year  to as many as your need. This contract provides a fixed labour charge and discounted locker locks and parts. We will stock the key parts you need for your lockers so there is no long wait when things go wrong.

Fixed price service contracts

Fixed price servicing offers a way for you to fix your budget for the year. We would charge you a fixed price for servicing your lockers for the year inclusive of parts and labour from as little as 2.99 per compartment. The number of visits is down to you. We would provide you with a free initial survey and a cost for bringing your lockers back to full operational condition. After that we will service your lockers. The main benefit of this service agreement is fixed cost, no more surprises, no unbudgeted costs.

Locker refurbishment

We offer locker refurbishment for a large number of locker manufacturers, resolve security issues, replace locker doors and bring the lockers back to optimum condition possible. We will provide you with a free locker survey and provide you with a quotation for carrying out the work. Our engineers are very flexible and if needed can work out side normal hours.

Locker lock replacement

We offer a wide selection of locker locks and can advise on the best solution to meet your needs, our engineers have had extensive experience of converting lockers to take alternative locks. We can convert,  coin operated lockers to swivel hasp locks to take padlocks. Convert lockers to coin operated locks, electronic combination locks, RFID locks and many more. We would provide you with a free survey and a comprehensive quotation.

What is included in a locker service?

At Total Locker Service, we take product maintenance seriously, which is why we offer a range of packages to suit every type of locker area. Our packages include a free site survey to assist you with your servicing decisions and we offer 2 different service packages to meet the needs of different types of venue. We can service lockers, cubicles and benching.

We always work to an agreed budget or quotation and we aim to achieve 100% working lockers and cubicles. We will let you know if and why this can’t be achieved.

Essentials package – a one off service visit

All equipment in the contract is inspected, doors opened and

serviced even if it means opening up lockers in use. The engineer checks all

components and carries out the work as set out below :

  • Check operation of all doors for correct  closure and alignment and adjust if necessary
  • Check all  fixtures and fittings, loose ones to be  tightened and any missing fixings to be replaced
  • Check  operation of door spring/hinge – the hinge is then lubricated and replaced if  the door does not self-close (provided access is possible at the time.)
  • Check general condition of locker top, shelf and the locker cross members, cubicles and benching and take any necessary action to correct if possible.

Locks

  • All locks are checked 2/3 times for effective operation; they are lubricated, & checked again
  • Any locks/keys & barrels/hinges/wrist straps that need to be replaced during the course of the service will be replaced (stock providing).

Comprehensive package

In this package we offer a service contract for up to 3 years, to include all the above processes, on an agreed number of visits per year, and including a 10% reduction on spare parts prices. This package helps to maintain the longevity of the equipment, keeps it functioning efficiently and if budgets allow, restores the equipment to full working order. An option for inclusive spare parts is available if required.

Total Locker Service has provided Marylebone Cricket Club with a solution to their changing requirement regarding changing room locker locks, the existing coin return locks no longer met the requirements of their customers. Marylebone Cricket Club felt that a combination lock would better suit the requirements of their customers. We offered the customer an extensive choice of both digital and mechanical combination locks, Marylebone Cricket Club chose the American manufactured Digilock for its elegant design, the simplicity of use and master key functionality.
Total Locker Service as part of the project replaced the existing compact grade laminate doors with new Trespa compact grade laminate doors.
